"The hand that rocks the cradle ... rules the world." It is about power, control and authority. Yes over other people but in particular yourself and the people that you are responsible for. This is a Mother's blog, under construction. It is for women and those men that find themselves faced with motherly responsibilities and who have mothers in their lives. Hopefully that covers everyone.
Whether a woman knows it or not, she has the power to effect/affect what happens today, tomorrow and many, many years beyond that in the way that she interacts with other people but more importantly the way she views her womanhood, "Goddess state" and above all, Motherhood.
Minister Farrakhan has made it clear to Black women, willing to listen, regarding who we are, we are that hand that is rocking the cradle of the person responsible for the death of Blair Holt, we are the hand that rocked the cradle of the drug dealer on our community corners. We are the hand that nurtured those fingers and hands that pull the triggers, sell the drugs, rape the girls, steal the cars and more.
The responsibility rests with us, mothers and their families. Nobody seems to want to frame it that way. Nobody wants to look at the problems that have come to head because of domestic failures, yes failures, of women.
For those of you that are trying to hold fast to, "What about the progress that women have made?" I say yes some progress has been made but look at the cost. We can solve the problems in our community by making sure we do our jobs in raising our children.
