We have a heavy responsibility, Mother's, guardians and parents. We hold our children's lives in our very hands. We have the authority to tell them to go out into the poring rain, the freezing snow or even the hot day sun. With that authority we must be careful. Mishandling children or any person for that matter, can create a circumstance that we do not desire. They won't always be children and they won't always be under our authority. Know that they grow up and they remember things that you have long forgotten.
They remember things that you thought little of, like the time you told them they couldn't have a cookie because you did not want to get up off the couch (smile). Or the time that they couldn't watch television because we were on the phone or the time they tried to tell you about their day and we didn't listen. Those kinds of events play into their development. And when it happens to us it plays into our frame of mind as well.
Many principles examined are applicable to adults and children and sometimes it even behooves us to have the mind of a child to help us understand things better.
Let us be mindful, very mindful of how we interact with one another and not take each other for granted, especially our children.
