Don't Ignore The Signs

When one of my children was at their "terrible two" stage, the stage where no boundaries exist-- where fires, flooded sinks, strewn toilet paper, clanging pots, and Crayola coloring walls are considered activities--a relative of mine said, "Not everyone loves your children, not everyone thinks they are cute." It was harshly said in the most disapproving tone you can imagine. It took me a second to recover from that brick that I had been hit in the head with, by a close relative no less. However, when I did, I had to dig the truth out of what was said. Not everyone loves my children. Not everyone loves your children. Not everyone loves our children. And not everyone loves children. In a better world, in a world with higher morals they would recognize them as the blessing to see the Hereafter that they are.
Recently a 61-year-old White man in Stony Mountain, Ga. grabbed a White 2-year-old little girl and slapped her. He was in a store, he did not know the mother, warned the mother to quiet her daughter down, when she didn't--he walked over and slapped the 2-year-old. Not once, but reportedly four (4) times. A stranger.
His criminal history is yet to unfold. If one doesn't, he probably has an undocumented mental profile. Why the mother did not find some pipe in the store to "deal with" (beat down, whup, 'kick his tail'-- take your pick) is beyond me. The child is said to be 'fine.' This is what this world is, not what it is coming to, but is.
This world has little or no respect for the lives of children (women as well). They are beaten, abducted, raped, sodomized, sold, enslaved, murdered, etc. What is a parent's responsibility in all of this?
No you don't know when someone is plotting to do these kinds of things to your child. But you can not ignore the signs this society is writing on the wall when it comes to children. Look at all the children reported missing. Look at the stories emerging about abducted children found murdered or raped (boys and girls).
As the stewards of children we don't have the luxury of ignoring the signs today. Don't ignore the signs, protect your (our) children with your lives.
